08:00 <Cepheid> Hmm. I suppose that's one solution. Bit of a hack, but..
08:03 <Cepheid> Problem: Take a 2D flat-shaded polygon, apply visible edges to it, but ensure that when zooming in, the edges remain the same width in appearance.
08:04 <Cepheid> Solution: Take polygon, take number of zoom levels available. Generate vertices and triangles for all zoom levels that maintain the requirements, pack into array, and just render the appropriate sub-model for the specific zoom level.
08:04 <Cepheid> There's no other easy way. A brute-force approach using shaders is too complicated, error prone, and slow.
08:05 <Cepheid> And doing the generation in real-time, each frame, while easy and feasible, is slow. It'd be best served as a fallback.
08:09 <Koopz> http://www.berdsandnerds.com/comic/2018/10/1/blundertale
08:10 <ConfusionRift> ...whoops.
08:13 <ConfusionRift> I have to admit as much. There have been a number of games that I have decided not to bother buying because I basically watched the whole playthrough done by someone else.
08:13 <ConfusionRift> I'm with the artist. :P
08:14 *** Quits: JonTheVGNerd (Jon@Pony-48j.p7d.45.70.IP) (Quit: Leaving)
08:16 <RazorSharpFang> It's unfortunate.
08:18 <Cepheid> It is a problem, yes.
08:18 <Cepheid> And I think the worst part of it is that the playthroughs are monetized.
08:19 <Cepheid> So the creator of the playthrough gets money, at the cost of the developer getting nothing because people will watch the playthrough for free, and then not buy the game.
08:20 <ConfusionRift> HOWEVER! There have been games that I see others play that I decide to cut the playthrough short, play it myself, and then watch their reactions.
08:21 <Cepheid> Mmhmm.
08:21 <Cepheid> But that's less common.
08:22 <ConfusionRift> It's been a 50/50 for me.
08:22 <Cepheid> That's just you, though. What about other people?
08:23 <Cepheid> Regardless, monetizing playthroughs shouldn't be legal. It's basically someone making money off of someone else' IP or work.
08:23 <Cepheid> Which last I checked, was illegal in many other areas.
08:24 <RazorSharpFang> The "litmus test" is this: Can the playthrough be substituted for playing it?
08:25 <Cepheid> Depends on what you're looking for in the game.
08:25 <ConfusionRift> Funny, how others get monetized using other people's work. Yet I get not just demonetized, but get videos muted/locked because I used a piece of music that wasn't mine.
08:26 <ConfusionRift> Actually, my last video test that used BoTW got demonetized as soon as it got uploaded.
08:26 <ConfusionRift> Whatever.
08:26 <Cepheid> Nintendo has lawyers scrounging Youtube on a regular basis. If it's not a review of a game, it's likely going to be taken down.
08:27 <Cepheid> And yes, there are those who aren't affected.
08:27 <ConfusionRift> There's a reason why I stopped uploading like I used to.
08:27 * Golden flops.
08:27 <RazorSharpFang> Cepheid, they're not gonna be lawyers. There are firms you can outsource that to.
08:27 <Cepheid> True.
08:27 <RazorSharpFang> Just requires one lawyer to put their stamp on it
08:28 <Cepheid> The problem with playthroughs versus everything else..
08:28 <Cepheid> Is that because of all the back-and-forth fighting, people, companies and the like are hesitant to take them down.
08:29 <Cepheid> Gets you a lot of backlash if you don't allow playthroughs, etc.
08:30 <Cepheid> In any case, it's not really a topic I like discussing much, because my views on it will grate with the views of the average person.
08:30 <Cepheid> When it comes to playthroughs, publication of music that's not yours, using artwork that's not yours and the like, I support DMCA takedowns.
08:30 <ConfusionRift> Actually, funny enough, I see more Let's Plays than I do playthroughs. And yes, there's a difference.
08:31 <Cepheid> It's not yours, you have no right to publish it without the consent of the creator, you deserve the punishment you get for it.
08:31 <Cepheid> Especially if it's monetized.
08:31 <Cepheid> "But it's my livelihood!" Well tough luck, go get a job.
08:32 <RazorSharpFang> As far as the court's concerned, monetization is not considered, from what I've seen
08:32 <RazorSharpFang> Unless damages are being sought after.
08:32 <Cepheid> People put time and effort that could have been spent doing other stuff into these things, drawing, making music, writing stories and the like.
08:33 <Cepheid> For someone to come along, go "Oh hey, I want to show the entirety of this thing to the world for free" is bullshit.
08:33 <Cepheid> That they get away with it pisses me off to no end.
08:33 <Cepheid> And what's worse, they make money off of it.
08:33 <Cepheid> Unfortunately, because of pricks like PewDiePie and various other playthrough creators, we have to allow this kind of crap.
08:34 <Cepheid> We don't have a choice in the matter.
08:34 <Cepheid> All because some stupid generation of little spoiled brats want to see their favourite Youtube personality scream and shout and giggle while playing video games.
08:35 <RazorSharpFang> Well, gaming content is short-form, easily-digestable, easily-produced. The Youtube algorithm loves all of those.
08:35 <Cepheid> And the moment anyone steps on their toes, all hell breaks loose, and all lawsuits, all legal issues just have to up and vanish, or you start getting death threats, letter bombs and the like.
08:36 <Cepheid> I want to create games, but I just don't think it's worth the time and effort, plus I don't want people to make money off of something I created and I am trying to make money off of.
08:36 <Cepheid> Which will grate with the Internet as a whole.
08:36 <Cepheid> So I'll lose sales, get review bombed and the like.
08:36 <Cepheid> So, straight up, what's the point?
08:37 <RazorSharpFang> Well, you could make your game with many branches, so that everyone who plays it gets a different experience - this way a playthrough wouldn't be the same as playing it.
08:37 <Cepheid> That won't solve the problem.
08:38 <Cepheid> Look on Youtube for any game that has multiple playthroughs, you will find videos for each and every possible scenario.
08:38 <Cepheid> The reality is that it's not worth the time and effort to create a game.
08:38 <Cepheid> It's just a pointless endeavour.
08:38 <Cepheid> Everything you do will simply be taken by someone else, monetized, and you'll get absolutely nothing.
08:38 <RazorSharpFang> I'm not convinced of that. Many indie titles have had huge amounts of success.
08:39 <Cepheid> The only way that works is if you involve DRM.
08:39 <Cepheid> And hahaha, yeah good luck with that.
08:39 <RazorSharpFang> Alternatively, as the creator, you COULD use ContentID. But, you will face a backlash.
08:39 <Cepheid> That's what pisses me off.
08:39 <Cepheid> I would have no rights as the developer.
08:39 <Cepheid> Because everyone else on the Internet is a self-entitled prick of a jackass.
08:40 <Unixkitty> I'm not sure I follow, how would it be that if you create a video game "you'll get absolutely nothing"?
08:40 <Cepheid> It's a known thing that the returns on many games is barely enough, if at all, to cover the costs of making it.
08:41 <RazorSharpFang> It's the Pareto distribution. A small minority of titles make basically all the returns.
08:41 <Unixkitty> If they're not that good perhaps, why would it be otherwise?
08:42 <ConfusionRift> Okay okay. Maybe we should move off a bit? Maybe something else? I'm sensing that redlining health-degrading rage. Just concerned.
08:42 <Cepheid> There are quite a few "good games" that have not made anywhere near the amount of money they should have, while playthrough makers have made more money.
08:42 <RazorSharpFang> That's a potential issue - they might be great or excellent games. But, they might be negatively affected by circumstance.
08:42 <Unixkitty> Not really, ConfusionRift
08:42 <Cepheid> Actually Rifty's right.
08:42 <Cepheid> I'm sitting on the line.
08:43 <Cepheid> It's just not visible.
08:43 <Cepheid> Or well, immediately visible.
08:43 <Unixkitty> Aw, and here I started getting actually interested in the topic.
08:43 <RazorSharpFang> Sad
08:43 <ConfusionRift> I'm sorry. I saw the red flagging early and... I got a bit concerned.
08:44 <Unixkitty> Well, you could continue in #techponies :P
08:44 <Cepheid> Taking into consideration the current situation, I consider DRM and DMCA takedowns to be useful tools.
08:44 <Cepheid> Much as people may dislike them.
08:44 <RazorSharpFang> As I said, ContentID is another useful tool.
08:44 <Cepheid> Unfortunately, as stated, backlash is involved.
08:44 <Cepheid> So I have no choice but to stay quiet.
08:45 <Unixkitty> DRM has always been a little of a grey area
08:45 <Cepheid> And yet a necessity.
08:45 <Cepheid> I don't agree with the argument of "I'm just pirating it to see if I'll like it."
08:45 <Cepheid> I wish we'd go back to the era of shareware/demos with all games.
08:46 <Cepheid> It'd solve that particular argument.
08:46 <ConfusionRift> Well, here's how I see the whole thing. I see both sides as a double edge sword with each edge being sharp enough to cut through tungsten.
08:46 <RazorSharpFang> If everyone who pirated instead wrote a letter that said "I didn't buy your game because you didn't put out a demo" it would be demos galore.
08:46 <RazorSharpFang> And that would be amazing.
08:46 <Cepheid> Yeah, good luck getting that to happen.
08:46 <RazorSharpFang> Luck is insufficient.
08:47 <ConfusionRift> ...why am I reminded of the old demo discs? I miss those.
08:47 <Unixkitty> I used to do that until steam introduced the refund system
08:47 <Cepheid> It's a nice approach, that system, but it has it's flaws.
08:47 <Unixkitty> But by then I developed enough sense to say outright if I'll like the game at a glance
08:47 <Cepheid> A demo can be replayed multiple times. A refund period of what, 2 hours? Limits the amount of times you can replay the demo to get a better idea of things.
08:47 <ConfusionRift> I have seen some users get refunds way past the refund date limit.
08:48 <Cepheid> Er, replay the game*
08:48 <Unixkitty> True, it's still usually enough though
08:48 <Unixkitty> It is decided by support people, ConfusionRift
08:48 * ConfusionRift nods. "Still."
08:49 <Cepheid> From a financial standpoint, developing for PC is almost a waste of time.
08:49 <Cepheid> Because of how easy piracy is.
08:49 <ConfusionRift> [Maybe they should do like GameStop and cut their refund value and get that as Steam credit.] :P
08:49 <Cepheid> DRM's a necessity, but in it's current setup, I don't trust it.
08:50 <Unixkitty> That is one reason why it should be simpler not to
08:50 <Cepheid> Because it's been proven to be broken countless times, even the ones that were supposed to be unbreakable.
08:50 <Unixkitty> Indeed
08:50 <Cepheid> And given the current nature of computing..
08:50 <Cepheid> There is practically no point in trying.
08:51 *** Quits: Lord_Greener (The_Greene@Pony-r44.hsp.48.37.IP) (Ping timeout: 121 seconds)

08:51 *** Quits: Arkomeda (Arkomeda@Pony-0dhmuv.home.otenet.gr) (Quit: I must go, my planet needs me.)
08:51 <Cepheid> The internals of DRM code are often visible within the executable or associated DLLs/library files.
08:51 <Cepheid> As a result, reverse-engineering the DRM is possible in every case.
08:51 <Cepheid> How long it takes is the question.
08:52 <Cepheid> About the only approach known to work is "game must be played online"
08:52 <Cepheid> Which has it's ups and downs.
08:53 <Unixkitty> Which people consider to be such a boo, don't they
08:53 <Cepheid> It causes problems, yeah.
08:53 <Cepheid> Namely, at launch, the servers will be hammered so hard that it's impossible to predict just how bad it'll be.
08:53 <Cepheid> So the game won't work out of the gate, until the flood slows.
08:54 <Cepheid> And if the servers ever go down, or become unreachable because of Internet disruptions..
08:54 <ConfusionRift> I would try anyways. If I start a gaming project, I would like to see it pan through. Despite the piracy, media issues, and IP protection, I would like to go forth with it and try to make something from scratch that actually works and is fun to play. (shrugs) Though, turning that time into a form of income is not a bad thing.
08:54 <Cepheid> Then there's the risk of denial-of-service attacks and such disrupting the game.
08:54 <RazorSharpFang> I'm totally gonna try anyway.
08:54 <RazorSharpFang> Maybe give whatever the current crowdfunding site is.
08:54 <Unixkitty> And imagine the experience you'll get in creating such a project
08:55 <ConfusionRift> There's that too.
08:55 <Cepheid> Truth is, deep down I want to try anyways. I'm just frustrated that people are such assholes about any attempt by creators other than Youtube folks to make money.
08:55 <ConfusionRift> And I agree.
08:56 <ConfusionRift> It's just beyond frustrating.
08:56 <Unixkitty> Well, people are generally just that when it comes to content. So to be honest there's not much to be done about it
08:56 <Unixkitty> In the end it's still do or do not
08:56 <Cepheid> An artist draws or paints something? People want it for free. A musician creates music? The public wants it for free. An indie or triple-A studio makes a game? Public wants it for free. A youtube artist makes money off of stuff that isn't theirs? No one bats an eye or cares.
08:57 <Cepheid> I find it increasingly distressing how much Youtube is somehow responsible for a lot of the problems regarding content ownership.
08:58 <Unixkitty> And they are actually the ones youtubers make money thanks to
08:58 <ConfusionRift> It's a weird thing, ain't it.
08:58 <Cepheid> Or the erosion of morality in the viewers. I mean, Paul Logan is still around on Youtube, making money. Nevermind all the controversies.
08:59 <ConfusionRift> Funny enough, for the most parts, controversies actually translate into more money.
08:59 <Cepheid> Pretty much.
08:59 <Cepheid> Turns out, the more immoral you are, the better.
08:59 <Cepheid> Try to make an honest living, and you may as well be killing babies by drowning them in sulfuric acid.
08:59 <RazorSharpFang> This might actually just be a big indictment of humanity as a whole.
09:00 <ConfusionRift> It's like that kid that sudden;y turns into a bully, just because they find it more popular.
09:00 <ConfusionRift> Wait... no... not going there... I'm gonna halt myself.
09:01 <Cepheid> One of the reasons I want to make games is to make someone happy, but then when you look at everything going on, it makes you want to ask: Why bother?
09:01 <Cepheid> Why make people who are assholes feel better?
09:01 <ConfusionRift> I gotta admit, it's been a wall for me.
09:02 <Unixkitty> For some the answer ends up being to make themselves happy instead.
09:02 <Cepheid> Don't mean to get dark here, but that is one of the many reasons I question why I continue to exist.
09:02 <Unixkitty> They create something they love, with some thought that other people may want to enjoy it as well.
09:03 <Cepheid> I seem so different from the norm among society. Everything I want is so contradictory to everything else, that what is the purpose of living anymore?
09:03 <Cepheid> I am more of an annoyance to society than anything else, because I'm an outlier.
09:03 <Unixkitty> That's kind of the point of my last sentiment I suppose
09:03 <Unixkitty> The problem usually lies in thinking that there's reason to please others
09:04 <Cepheid> Creating something I love in the hopes that others might love it isn't going to get me anywhere in life.
09:04 <Unixkitty> When the answer usually comes with a question of why bother if they're not that worth it?
09:04 <Unixkitty> Some may be, but those will find you if they want to
09:05 <Unixkitty> Whether you'd like to admit or not Cepheid, that's how it all started :P
09:05 <Unixkitty> And how it works when something is genuine, usually.
09:06 <Cepheid> The only thing I have to hold onto that keeps my life worth living is my cat.
09:07 <Cepheid> Were it not for that, I likely wouldn't be here. My friends, my family, etc. It's not enough for me to keep living. Especially with my temper and mood swings.
09:07 <Unixkitty> Cats are life though. In so many ways.
09:07 <Cepheid> As I re-iterate every time I get like this, I am a burden upon society.
09:08 <Unixkitty> Only if you keep thinking that you're here for their sake, my friend.
09:08 <Cepheid> I don't produce anything of value or use. And I just keep taking and taking from everything else.
09:08 <Unixkitty> I think this is exactly where I've been a few years ago.
09:09 <Unixkitty> So do most others
09:09 <Unixkitty> Who cares in the end? We are of entropy, of chaos
09:09 <Unixkitty> Our purpose in this existence is to cause instability in the universe
09:09 <Unixkitty> That's what life is
09:09 <Cepheid> Let's see, I accept money in the form of loans and grants, and that money comes from somewhere. Presumably the taxes people pay. I am a sickly person, so I regularly need medical visits and psychiatric visits, which are paid for by the country-wide health care system, which itself is paid for by taxes.
09:10 <Cepheid> I live with my parents because I can't afford to live on my own, 'cause I can't get a job in a field I'm good at. Either because I'm just too lazy, or my personality just doesn't fit. Not sure which.
09:10 <Cepheid> And on a regular basis I bother you all with this stuff, taking your time, exhausting your energy in attempting to calm me down, etc, etc, etc.
09:10 <Finwe> It's snowing! o3o
09:11 <Cepheid> And what do I give in return for it all? Pretty much nothing.
09:11 * Finwe throws a snowball at Unixkitty.
09:11 <Cepheid> I'm a drain, a black hole.
09:11 <Unixkitty> Hmm :P Yep, so the first one is "those" people are paying for you
09:11 <Unixkitty> Sounds like a good deal to me
09:11 <Unixkitty> They are bad, so their money is worth it
09:12 * Unixkitty yelps and falls over, flailing
09:13 <Cepheid> I wonder how many more times these little episodes are gonna keep happening, to be honest.
09:13 <Unixkitty> Saturday night a friend and I were walking from their place to metro and it was SNOWING too, Finwe
09:13 <Unixkitty> But boy what kind of ridiculous snow it was
09:14 <Cepheid> On the upside, the episodes aren't as bad as they used to be.
09:14 <Cepheid> So the medication is helping.
09:15 <Unixkitty> I have come to believe that they only happen for as long as you're here for _them_.
09:15 <ConfusionRift> I don't know how, but for some reason, I felt it would lead to this point. But yeah, it's... better. I really hate to label it that, but it's more under control.
09:16 <Unixkitty> I can't tell you in how much of a stress I used to be finding myself in when I hadn't been able to think any other way
09:16 <Unixkitty> I didn't even realize how terrible it was until I was able to think about it from a different viewpoint.
09:16 <Cepheid> I just find it annoying that it's self-fueling.
09:17 <Unixkitty> Hah, that's exactly how it is I would say
09:17 <Cepheid> I get into a depressive/annoyed mood, I bother other people with it, which itself them further fuels it.
09:17 <Cepheid> All because I don't want to bother other people with it.
09:18 <ConfusionRift> That is the basis of a depression loop.
09:18 <Unixkitty> I say, bother them!
09:18 <Unixkitty> In the end, only you care
09:18 <Cepheid> In any case, I've something else that annoys me now anyways.
09:18 <Unixkitty> Be careful about it, because a rational person can be
09:18 <Cepheid> The lab coordinator seems to be expressing stupid views.
09:18 <Unixkitty> But feel free to!
09:18 <Cepheid> He doesn't want students bothering the TAs with questions about the assignments.
09:18 <ConfusionRift> Hmm? Please, feel us in.
09:18 <Cepheid> ... That's what we're bloody here for!
09:19 <Cepheid> This university is run by morons.
09:19 <Cepheid> Every layer of it.
09:19 * ConfusionRift facepalms. Yes, he replaced his hooves for this.
09:19 <Cepheid> His argument for the request that students stop bugging us outside of office hours is that it's unfair to the other students.
09:20 <Cepheid> So, pray tell, how is it not unfair to other students when a student shows up at my office hours, and asks me a question, a question that no one else in the class will hear an answer to?
09:20 <Cepheid> Of course, as the lab coordinator is my boss, I can't say anything.
09:20 <Cepheid> Otherwise, I'd tell him that his request is stupid, and that his logic is stupid.
09:21 <ConfusionRift> And that all he does is stupid. And the regulations, norms, and algorithms used for it are stupid.
09:21 <ConfusionRift> ...I'm sorry.
09:22 <Cepheid> Also, none of the students are likely to get this weeks "tutorial" running.
09:22 <ConfusionRift> ...heh?
09:22 <Cepheid> I followed the instructions detailed by it.
09:22 <Cepheid> It doesn't work as expected because some steps are missed.
09:22 <ConfusionRift> Oh, I had this situation with a few facilitators.
09:23 <Cepheid> I'm starting to understand why the students don't like this course.
09:23 <Cepheid> The instructor doesn't bother to do a decent job in keeping things up to date, or making sure they work.
09:26 <Cepheid> I didn't have a problem with it because I can work around problems like that.
09:26 <ConfusionRift> "We used all the parameters, variables, arrays, processes, and steps you asked for. It doesn't work at all." | "Well... the assignment was to figure out the problem, and find a solution for the problem. It seems you didn't pass." | I did. | "Oh good, mind showing-" | No. I wanna see YOUR solution first. | "...erm..."
09:26 * Koopz catches up... well look at that avalanche i let loose...
09:26 <Cepheid> Tutorials aren't problem-solving things.
09:26 <Cepheid> They're "Here, follow the instructions, they'll teach you how to do X."
09:26 <Cepheid> As in, the end-result is supposed to be a working program.
09:27 <Cepheid> It's literally a case of copy-and-paste the code.
09:27 <ConfusionRift> The problem I pointed out was when a facilitator tries to use the whole "the fun was for you to find the solution" excuse to walk away from the mess.
09:27 <Cepheid> And yet, despite this, it doesn't work.
09:27 <Cepheid> Heh.
09:28 <Cepheid> Koopz: Don't worry about it.
09:28 <Cepheid> My mind's a strange an annoying place.
09:28 <ConfusionRift> Of course not. If the code is outdated, it will likely not work at all.
09:28 <Unixkitty> "Copy-and-paste the code" are exactly the kind of tutorials that I could never learn much from
09:28 <Cepheid> Same.
09:29 <Unixkitty> After following them and even creating the end result, I'd be left with naught but a vague idea of what I'd done
09:29 <Cepheid> But at the same time, I do manage to learn from them by doing something called "reading the manual on what I just used."
09:29 <Cepheid> I see these functions. I see these classes being instantiated.
09:29 <Cepheid> All I have to do is use Google or some other search engine to look them up.
09:30 <Cepheid> The problem is that nooooot many people do this, because there's no indication that they should be doing this.
09:30 <Cepheid> Not once thus far have I seen any professor in a programming course teach that students should search for information on what it is they just did in a lab/tutorial.
09:31 <ConfusionRift> At one class, there was this issue that the tutorial was just not working whatsoever. The reason why was because it was jumping between processes, so you would be basically doing step 5 on step 3, and step 11 on step 4.
09:31 <Cepheid> Can't count the number of times I've directed people to specific documentation by giving them keywords to look up with Google.
09:31 <Cepheid> And oftentimes, those students usually solve the problem a while later.
09:31 <ConfusionRift> And one of the frigging Java books! Urgh, I remember!
09:31 <Cepheid> There's another source of trouble, ConfusionRift, that involves expectations of education.
09:32 <Cepheid> Can't count the number of times I've heard students complain that the professor isn't explaining or teaching everything to them.
09:32 <Cepheid> And when I say "everything" I mean "everything" as in, the students are expecting the professor to teach them every little detail about JavaScript from it's inception to today.
09:32 <Cepheid> Or in C, C++, C#, Java, etc.
09:33 <ConfusionRift> One of the editions of one of the Java books was missing a whole page. A tutorial was there, so... pffft.
09:33 <Cepheid> If there's one thing I've learned in the last 22 years of writing code that isn't "I can't complete projects", it's that "Don't expect everything to be taught to me, I'll have to learn some of it through self-teaching."
09:34 <Cepheid> Even learning things from other programmers is flaky at best.
09:34 <Cepheid> You might learn a technique or two at best, if you show them your code. But more often than not you'll be told to RTFM or directed to a reference instead.
09:34 <Koopz> hmmm... i'd actually blame the schools the students went to before studying for not being able to teach them how to research things on their own and just practicted hardcore spoonfeeding
09:35 <Cepheid> I don't know where it starts Koopz, mostly because in comparison to many students, I had a slightly different educational setup.
09:35 <ConfusionRift> Heh, not where I studied. Then again, I moved to the Internet way late. So I was kinda forced to do research on libraries for assignments.
09:35 <Cepheid> Among being told to not listen to some teachers and just sleep in class or something, I also didn't attend high school.
09:36 <Cepheid> Plus I moved around a lot during grade school.
09:36 <Cepheid> I must have gone through about six or seven different schools over my childhood.
09:36 <ConfusionRift> That didn't help.
09:36 <Cepheid> So I got different teaching styles from different teachers every year
09:37 <Cepheid> My expectations of teachers may have been flawed because of that. But I think it was mostly the lack of going to high school.
09:37 <Cepheid> Because at that point, everything I learned was self-taught. I didn't ask questions of anyone at the distance education facility.
09:37 <Cepheid> I literally figured everything out on my own.
09:38 <Cepheid> If I didn't understand something, or got a wrong answer, it was on me, not on someone else not being able to express it in terms and concepts that I could understand.
09:38 <Cepheid> Now that I think about it, that may have a lot to do with the whole problem of expecting to figure everything out on my own in college and university.

11:39 <ConfusionRift> Wasn't there a case of a driver not paying attention and careening a buss over a hill- wait, huh?!
