The power switch will connect two power poles, one which provides power, one which needs to receive power. Your chem lab will be next to the one that needs to receive power.
15:13 <Cepheid> When the combinator detects a certain signal, it'll activate the power switch and power the chem lab. When that signal isn't detected, it'll disable the power switch, cutting power to the chemlab.
